I am 73 years young and love my current life!
I recently started Boogie Boarding and get into the water as often as possible. But winter is not always the best time to do that, so I walk at least 5 – 10kms weather permitting. I lead a very active lifestyle and will be doing the 10km walk/run in Blisters for Bread this year on 16 August, 2026. I have also entered for the Cape Town Marathon next year but am awaiting confirmation of my entry.
I love to dance - Disco, have done Zumba and music is a big passion (I actually attended my first RAVE earlier this year!). Did I mention sports? You name it, I love it! The Boks, Baby Boks, Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana, the Proteas (men and women) athletics (I participated in athletics when younger), gymnastics, Olympics, World Athletic Champs. Not to mention MotoGP and F1. I spend hours watching sports on TV.
Love cooking and baking and can make a mean pasta, chocolate cake, granola, boerekos (ja, ek is eintlik ‘n boeremeisie). Am always trying out new recipes.
Another big passion is charity work. I am a breast cancer survivor and strong advocate for breast cancer awareness. In particular the work done by my breast specialist, Dr Liana Roodt and her Project Flamingo campaign. She’s such an inspiration and my hero.
I love animals and Animal Welfare and any cruelty to animal is abhorrent to me. I donate food to our local AWS in Gordons Bay. Also, strong advocate for Child Welfare and children’s homes.
That’s me in a nutshell. I am a strong, powerful, active woman and love my life!
