Kristin-Rain Kok is a Johannesburg-based young creative with a lifelong love for art, music and creative expression.

Art is at the heart of who she is. She is an Art student at school and has been appointed Deputy Head of Art, reflecting both her passion for the subject and her contribution to the creative life of her school. She has a particular love for painting and enjoys expressing ideas, emotions and her own perspective through her artwork.

Her artistic eye naturally extends beyond the canvas. She has a strong appreciation for colour, composition, imagery and visual storytelling, which has also sparked an interest in photography, fashion and the creative process behind an image.

Music is another important part of Kristin-Rain’s life. She has been appointed Head of Music at her school, plays in school ensembles and is also a member of the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra outside of school. She plays violin and piano and has also taught herself guitar and ukulele.

She is regularly involved in the musical life of her school and is often invited to perform at the opening of Chapel. Kristin-Rain has also been called on to assist with voice recordings for school initiatives, particularly Afrikaans text recordings. Fluent in both English and Afrikaans, these opportunities have given her some early experience using her voice in a recorded setting.

Her creative interests also extend into acting. Kristin-Rain enjoys exploring characters, emotions and different forms of expression and is interested in developing her acting skills and gaining experience in this area. Her natural creativity, musical background and comfort performing in front of others provide a strong foundation as she explores this side of the creative industry.

Being in front of the camera has always come naturally to her. Kristin-Rain has been comfortable in front of a camera from a very young age, long before she considered modelling more formally.

She has only recently started exploring the modelling industry, but has quickly discovered how much she enjoys it. She loves the creative world of fashion, styling and makeup, the transformation that goes into creating different looks and concepts and, of course, a little bit of the limelight.

For Kristin-Rain, modelling is not separate from her other interests — it is another form of creative expression. She enjoys seeing how fashion, makeup, photography, lighting, location and personality come together to tell a story through an image. Her own interest in photography also gives her an appreciation for what happens on both sides of the camera.

At her core, Kristin-Rain is a young artist and creative. Whether she has a paintbrush in her hand, is performing with her violin, looking through a camera, exploring a character or stepping in front of the lens for a fashion shoot, she is happiest when she has the opportunity to create, perform and express herself.

As she continues to explore opportunities in modelling and acting, Kristin-Rain is excited to learn, gain experience and enjoy the journey while building on the creative foundation she has already developed through art, music and photography.
