Hi there, my name is Dewinthone Tshitenge, and I am 21 years old.
My modeling journey began at just 7 months old, when my parents entered me into a baby competition. Though I didn’t win, I was scouted by Funky Models, a kid’s modeling agency, which led to my first feature at age 3 in YOU Magazine’s YOU KIDS' FASHION section, advertising Ackerman’s Clothing. By age 5, my modeling career took a pause—until I reignited it at 16 by auditioning for the International Arts Talent Showcase on February 29th, 2020. I was awarded Overall Female Fashion Model and received a call-back to their prestigious 10th Annual Showcase later that year, where I earned an invitation to the IMTA Showcase in New York, which I was unfortunately unable to attend.
In 2024, after feeling somewhat discouraged in the industry, I took a bold step and entered my first pageant competition—Miss African Culture Top Model—representing the Democratic Republic of Congo as Miss DRC. Out of 10 selected finalists, I was honoured to win and go on to represent my country alongside 16 other African nations in the grand finale, where I proudly placed as 2nd Princess. This journey has been marked by early beginnings, resilient comebacks, and continued growth as I pursue every opportunity to represent beauty, culture, and purpose on and off the runway.
Outside of modeling, I’m deeply passionate about the arts—particularly singing, songwriting, and dance. I’ve been singing and dancing for as long as I can remember; it’s always been a natural gift and emotional outlet for me. During the 2020 lockdown, I tapped into songwriting for the first time, transforming my journal entries and emotions into lyrics. It was then that I discovered songwriting as a powerful form of self-expression and clarity—a gift I continue to develop to this day. In my free time, I teach myself through YouTube videos on how to record and mix my vocals, constantly learning and refining my creative process.
I also have a background in contemporary dance, which I studied in 7th and 8th grade. This journey gave me the incredible opportunity to perform at the Artscape Theatre for two consecutive years, as well as at the Cape Town Carnival in 2019—memorable moments that grew my love for movement and stage presence.
Beyond that, I enjoy journaling, reading, and embracing all things creative. I believe in the power of art—whether through song, word, or movement—to heal, inspire, and express the unspoken.
Grateful always,
Dewinthone Tsh. x
